The Dragon shell uses a 100mm forefoot width and a flex adjustment system for the cuff. By inserting or removing two steel studs the flex is modified. This series, as well as Phoenix and Mega below it, use a structure called 3Density. It refers to a method of inserting reinforcing ribs during the molding process so the shell has differing hardness zones suited to different functions. Most boot-makers use some form of this idea to make their boots stiff where they want them and soft where they don’t.
